PuKaSa
"Purogamana
Kalasahithya Sangham"
PuKaSa
is the Forum
for Progressive Artists and Writers
started in 1981 with a view to interfere
and participate in the cultural sphere of Kerala and it's mother tongue,
Malayalam. That is the Malayalam abbreviation of the name of the forum. The great and popular Malayalam
poet Sri. Vailoppilly Sreedhara Menon was at the helm of the forum on
it's formation.
If we look into the history of the forum, we can see that it started
back in 1937 with the "Jeeval Sahithya
Sangham". In 1944 it was restructured,
elaborated and renamed as "Purogamana Sahithya Sanghatana".
The forum "Desabhimani Study Circle" was organised in
1970. In 1981 the Purogamana Kalasahithya Sangham came into being. The forum's
mission statement adopted at Perumbavoor in 1992 is known as "Perumbavoor Rekha". The Purogamana
Kalasahithya Sangham has established it's pressence by actively
participating in every development in the cultural arena of Kerala
